Ongalicious Ghana Cooks: Rafiatu Yussif takes home the ultimate prize


After 13 weeks of sizzling displays of culinary skills, the 2nd edition of the Ongalicious Ghana Cooks came to an end with Rafiatu Yussif emerging as the winner.

The competition started with 60 shortlisted contestants who battled it out to wear the special Onga apron, which takes the top 12 finalists to the final phase of the competition. Each episode of the Ongalicious Ghana Cooks TV show came with a unique showcase of rich, indigenous Ghanaian food spiced-up with Onga.

Contestant were groomed and taken through a training workshop on how to run a food business. The show also featured influential food enthusiasts and cameo stars who assisted the main judges in awarding scores. The Climax of the competition was held at the Labadi beach hotel where the final four contestants took to their kitchens to prepare the most Ongalicious meal.

After 2-hours of steaming hot cooking, contestants presented their meals to the judges for the final scores. Rafiatu Yussif was adjudged ultimate winner of the competition. The 2nd and 3rd places went to Konrah Gyemah and George Dediha respectively. The 13-week TV show was aired on two leading local TV stations with a nationwide coverage.
